On this trip to Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, we for the first time visited Fisherman's Wharf close to the harbor. One highlight for the tourists is the spot where you can buy some fish and feed the harbor seals that are lying in wait for this special treat. This shot was taken when one of the seals was trying to catch the fish right out of the hands of one of the visitors.

During my lunch break walks around the Fraser river I regularly witness freshly cut trees and other traces of beaver habitat. Once in a while I am lucky to spot one. This time I was testing out lenses with a colleague when we encountered a beaver rummaging for food just minutes from my office. We were able to watch this fascinating animal feeding for some 20 minutes before we had to get back to work.
